For serious sins we all need (and so we recommend) to unburden ourselves (confess these serious sins) in the sacrament of Confession as soon as possible (see help below).

"I know everything about you. Even the hairs of your head I have counted. Nothing in your life is unimportant to Me. [...] I love you for you, for the beauty and the dignity My Father gave you by creating you in His own image" (Jesus in "I thirst for You" meditation).

A word about St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Canonized on September 4th, 2016, Mother Teresa an emblematic missionary saint of the 20th century. She left us a tremendous spiritual legacy, marked by joy, confidence, and hope, despite the trial of "spiritual darkness" she endured for five decades.

By answering the call of Jesus at the side of the poorest of the poor, she was a messenger of God's love throughout her life. By her will to belong to Christ and to quench His thirst for love, she became a poignant face of the Father's mercy in our time.

Prayer from the novena

Novena prayer to Saint Teresa of Calcutta

"Saint Teresa of Calcutta, you allowed the thirsting love of Jesus on the Cross to become a living flame within you, and so became the light of His love to all. Obtain from the Heart of Jesus … (here make your request) Teach me to allow Jesus to penetrate and possess my whole being so completely that my life, too, may radiate His light and love to others. Amen". Text © Mother Teresa Center of the Missionaries of Charity https://www.motherteresa.org/prayers-to-st.-teresa-of-calcutta.html#st-3
