Thirty steps closer to Mary

Get acquainted with your Mother Mary, and invite her to your homes and hearts for a month. You will not want her to leave after that!

Living with Mary, and inviting her into our homes and hearts, means to live with her the simple daily life, with an extra divine touch.  Having Mary with us enables us to look at the small things of existence through a lense of faith, of mercy, thus drawing closer to the intangibles realities of Heaven.

This retreat is divided into three parts:

1- Mary, a model of faith through life events

2- The Immaculate Heart of Mary, refuge of sinners

3- Discovering Mary with Father Lamy

Every day, you will receive a short teaching to help you walk your spiritual path with Mary while meditating on her way of life, on what she is sharing with us. As she told Father Lamy, let us be confident that "the good of the souls will be done!"

After reading the daily meditation, you will be invited to a time of reflection, starting with the prayer of consecration to the Virgin Mary by Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort, followed by a chaplet decade for the intentions of the Holy Father:

-  the first intention is that any far-reaching decisions of economists and politicians may protect the family as one of the treasures of humanity.

-  the second intention is that young people in Africa may have access to education and work in their own countries.

Prayer of consecration to the Virgin Mary by Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort:

In the presence of all the heavenly court, I choose you this day, for my Mother and Mistress. I deliver and consecrate to you as your slave, my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present, and future; leaving to you the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception, according to your good pleasure, for the greater glory of God, in time and eternity. Amen.

This thirty-days retreat is put together by the Congregation of the Servants of Jesus and Mary. The congregation was founded in 1930 by Father Lamy in France. Its members live in communities, sharing their time in prayer and apostolic service to the youth (not to be confused with another Congregation of the Servants of Jesus and Mary - Servi Jesu et Mariae - founded in 1988 in Germany).

Prayer from the retreat

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace. Our Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
